- To adopt one or more activities in full
- Sponsor the salaries in full of each unit/ activity Contribute for infrastructure development like construction of rooms and maintenance of building.
- Contribute towards special aids, appliances and machinery Contribute towards educational pick-nicks, tours and faculty improvement programme.
- You can also adopt a child or rehabilitable adult disabled paying Rs.3500/-per month towards entire cost of education or rehabilitation of a child or adult.
The Role of Volunteers
Note: To Public Volunteers
Volunteers have been playing a important role not only supplementary and complimentary but often times pivotal role.
The volunteers can help the Association in the following areas:-
- Transcribing ink-print materials into Braille and in recording text and Putting the text or reference book on to the computer for subsequent transaction into Braille.
- In organizing literacy cultural sports meets and competitions and conferences at all level. At presentthere are over 150 regular volunteers including 39 from IT related establishment. House-wives, students, members of the youth and women organization and any one from any walk of life anywhere can join the association as volunteers to help the association visually impaired and other differently abled persons to help themselves.
- Registration of Volunteers: Any persons or group intending to render voluntary services shall send their details by E-mail or through post or in persons with their personal details as Name, address, telephone number, E-mail/ Fax and mentioning the type of service they intended to extend from out the list of services referred above.

Highlights

Sports Meet
As one of the pioneering and foremost voluntary organization for the Visually Challenged and other differently abled persons the association has been contributing significantly to the transformation of their status to one of contributing members of the society. The mentions of the few programs innovative and promotive in nature are worth viewing.
- The association has secured employment in government and non-government establishment to over 1250 Visually impaired persons from 1976.
- Has provided support for the economic rehabilitation of over 3250 differently abled persons particularly in the rural areas.
- Has helped over 5000 differently abled children and adults including the visually impaired for their education from 1974, mainly through Integrated Education for Disabled Children’s (IEDC) program and non-formal education and educational preparatory activities.
- Has trained directly or in collaboration 325 persons has special Teachers O&M instructor and rehabilitation workers for the disabled from 1981.
- Has interacted with over 48000 Children and adults for health check-up, immunization, disability diagnosis and treatment since 1985.
- Some of the outstanding programmes include State-level athletic meets far the Visually Challenged in Bangalore, Mandya, and Bellary with participant ranging from 252 to 400.
Currently, 60 children are receiving free hostel services, 117 children are receiving education under
Integrated Education for the Disabled(I.E.D), above 50 disabled person are receiving vocational training, 75 to 100 are helped for self employment, over 400 persons are helped for special aids and appliances through the CBR units, annually.
State-level conferences of the rural disabled held in Vijaypura in 1987.
Holiday borne camps of 7 to 10 days duration from 1978 almost 2 camps in a year benefiting over 3700 Visually Challenged persons from 1978.
Vintage car rally competition held in 1982.
Exhibitions and demonstration relating to education and rehabilitation of the Visually challenged held in Bangalore, Mandya and Bellary.
The first state-level drama competition for the Visually Challenged held in Mandya December 2001.
The Welfare-Week for the Blind a State-Level meet involving 700 Visually Challenged persons for literacy cultural and brain storming competitions and meet, conducted simultaneously in different parts of Bangalare, Ramanagar and Channapatna from 16th to 23 the February 1996.
The two-day South-Indian conferences entitled trends-trumps in the rehabilitation of the disabled. In Bangalore in 1994 witnessed a scenario equal to a national level conference in all its aspects.
These reflect the innovative mind-set and organizing abilities of Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind. Much more potential remains to be demonstrated and utilized with renewed and new opportunities for K.W.A.B.
