Focus

The focus of the Association activities in the future will be on increasing the economic rehabilitation potential for the disabled through income generation activities under self and group employment and creation sensitization and development of self help groups for the disabled of all categories and particularly for the Visually Impaired.

1.  Vocational Training cum Production unit one each in Vijayapura and Mandya Projects.

2.  Dairy Farming Project for the disabled in Nalligere Nagamangala Project.

3.  Modernized Tailoring and dress making unit in Bellur Nagamangala project.

4.  Computer Training Centre to training Visually Challenge and Hearing and Speech Impaired persons. In addition to providing training to other is planned to be instituted at an established construction of Rs.6.85 lacs including Renovation of Building and construction of speaking software similar special computer training centre are to be established in Tumkur, Mandya and Kolar at an estimated. Cost of Rs.6 lacs for each unit.

The Association also intends to redouble its efforts to provide better education facilities, develop volunteer services for disability intervention and create awareness and community development programs through the resources of the government and Non-Government establishments agencies for the rehabilitation and personality development of the Visually Impaired and other disabled persons.

The Role of Volunteers:

Volunteers have been playing a important role not only supplementary and complimentary but often times pivotal role.

They are helping the Association in: transcribing ink-print materials Into Braille and in recording Text-and reference books for college students on Audio cassettes, in providing medical support Services, in resources mobilization, in providing reading services and services as scribes for the Visually Impaired students in their Examination.

In organizing literacy cultural Sports meets and competition and conferences at all level. At present these are over 150 regular volunteers including 39 from IT related establishments. House–wives, students, members of the youth and women organization and any one from any walk of life anywhere can join the association as volunteers to help the association to help the Visually Impaired and other differently abled persons to help themselves.
