Management
The activities and affairs of the Association are managed by the Governing Council of the Association consisting of 7 office bearers and 8 Governing Council members with provision for inviting experts as special invitees and there are also advisory committees comprising of well wishers and experts in different fields to advise the Governing Council and different aspects of development.

President of the Association

Mr. B.V. Mallikarjunaiah is president of Association since 1998. Mr. B.V. Mallikarjunaiah is one of the B.V. Mallikarjunaiah, President leading Journalists and presently working with suvarna a reputed TV channel with a intention to shortly commence a news paper. He is a Post Graduate in Kannada, Literature and also Postgraduate Diploma holder in Journalism from Czechoslovakia. He has guided the activities of the working Journalists Association of Karnataka for over a decade including being its president for four years and at present he is member in Central Press Accreditation Committee the executive committee member of the National working Journalism Association. He has many award to his credit including Patrika Academy Award Mr. B.V. Mallikarjunaiah contribution to the Association is very valuable as he has help the Association to remain on track despite several ups & downs right from 1998.

Vice President: Mr. Sundaraj:He is a Lecturer in Kannada and is a pioneer in service of Blind.

HON. GENERAL SECRETARY S.P.MURTHY:-

Mr. S.P.Murthy with a few of his Visually Impaired friends is responsible for the revival of the association in 1974. He has associated himself with KWAB as Governing Council member and Vice President and again from 1992 he is the General Secretary. His work in the Association has influenced several innovative activities like the integrated education for the Disabled Children, Orientation & mobility training project for the Visually lmpaired and the Job placement project. His contribution to the community based rehabilitation project for the disabled is immense and he has been responsible for popularizing the CBR the community based rehabilitation project in Karnataka. His vision to mainstream the Visually lmpaired in to the Society through integrated activities and programmes is yielding fruits.

Mr. S.P.Murthy is retired lecturer in English from Government Junior College in Bangalore. He is the first among Visually Impaired persons in Karnataka to be selected by the Karnataka Public Service Commission to the post of lecturer in 1975. He is the recipient of the President award for the best-handicapped employee in the year 1981. He is also Honoured with THOMAS National award for the best social worker in 2002.

SECRETARY:

Mr.N.S.Nagaraj-He is in service of Association since 1980.He is a Freelance Journalist and Insurance Agent by Profession.

Sri. Doddanagaiah another secretary: -He is,a teacher in the Siddaganga School for the Blind Tumkur, Karnataka.

Treasurer

Smt. K. Anuradha is a PIONEER in service of Blind, Karnataka since 1978, in addition to providing reading service and brailing, reading materials she has helped a number of Blind women their education and economic rehabilitation in her personnel capacity.

Each projectfunit is headed by competent coordinator supported by different categories & workers like special teacher's resources teachers & CBR workers, hostel staff & administrative staff etc.

The present administration is fully geared up to undertake any activity of any magnitude with required help support & co-operation.

Project to commence from February 2010 -

FunctionalLiteracy, Personal Management Training and Entrepreneurship Training it's commence from 1" week of February 2010. Partly funded by the All India Confederationof the Blind (AICB) New Delhi. The one year duration training project aims at providing training to 10 blind women of the age group 18 to 35 in the above referred Areas. This non residential Trainingaims at enabling the Beneficiaries to undertake individual /group entrepreneurship for their livelihood blind women with 7'hstd or less qualification may apply immediately to the General Secretary of the Association.

Note:
  1. The Project need for support purchase of raw material and towards payment to a part time vocational lady instructor amounting to about Rupees One lakh.
  2. Dairy farming project for the disabled to commence from April 2010. The Association plans to launch a dairy farming project to train 12to 15 disabled persons in 6 months in dairy farming. The project will setup in Nalligere in a piece of land donated by Nalligere Panchayat which is located about 1kilo meter from Bellur cross towards kunigal. Support is needed from the public towards putting up of compound for an area of feet 100x feet 80. A bore well with overhead tank shed for 15 cows. Store rooms for feeds and fodders cottage for 10 to 12 trainees.

A full pledge computer training for rural visually impaired & rural disabled will commence from April 2010-

Under the Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind Vijaypura Unit Opposite to Girija Shankar Kalyana Mantapa Devanahalli Road Vijaypura. 15 Persons will be trained in computer operation over a period of 10 months. Initially the training program will be non residential. The project required support from the public for the following; 5 Computers along with 1Computer table and 2 computer chairs for each computer & Rs. 5000 every month towards the salary of 1computer instructor. Encourage interaction of the challenge children and the teacher provided an opportunity for demonstration/ exchange of cultural exuberances and try to promote the Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind's objectives and help to promote Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind's objectives and its development and progress for providing better opportunities for the deprived challenge children and persons. Be you an educational school and college invite us on Saturday's for fulfilling the above purpose. Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind appeals the public to provide opportunity for the institution to present variety cultural programs consisting of Bajans, orchestra of lyrics and film hits folklore, dance, mono-acting, and mimicry of varying of different duration and promote the talent of children into skills and help Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind to earn an income whatever may be feasible and possible.
